Matsuya Shibuya Center-gai Ten

It is in the middle of Shibuya Center-gai, a 4-minute walk from the Hachiko Exit of Shibuya Station.

There are counter seats only, and you order using a touch-panel ticket machine. The interior is compact and can get crowded at certain times, but turnover is fast so the wait seems short.

The beef in the "gyumeshi (beef rice bowl)" is said to be tender and seasoned with a sweet-savory flavor.

Pickled red ginger and shichimi (seven-spice chili pepper) are available on the table, and people say that helps keep the meal enjoyable to the last bite. Another reason for its popularity is that it comes with miso soup.

The "Sogyo Beef Beef Tongue Karegyu" is a luxurious menu item that lets you enjoy curry and gyudon (beef Rice bowl) at the same time.

The curry is said to have an authentic taste, with a lingering spiciness and the rich flavor of vegetables packed in. The sweet and savory richness of the beef fat adds another layer, bringing out the curry's heat even more.

The gyu-meshi (beef Rice bowl) was a tasty beef bowl with a nice salty edge and a good hit of soy sauce in the topping. The rice went well with the gyu-meshi sauce, making it a very good beef bowl. It paired really well with the rice, and I enjoyed it.

青龍偃月刀

・Beef Yakiniku set meal
Steam rises from the thinly sliced beef and onions coated in a sweet and savory sauce, and it really gets your appetite going. Sprinkle on some shichimi (Japanese seven-spice blend) and take a big bite, and the meat juices and sauce will have you polishing off the white rice in no time. The miso soup is aka-dashi (red miso soup) with a rich depth, and the small pieces of wakame (seaweed) and aburaage (fried tofu) make a nice palate cleanser.

Sukiya Shibuya Sakuragaoka Ten

A 3-minute walk from Shibuya Station. Sukiya Shibuya Sakuragaoka Ten is across from Sakura Stage.

The interior is clean and well kept. There are counter and table seats, and the spacing between the tables is relatively roomy.

The gyudon (beef Rice bowl) features tender beef well soaked in sauce, with a nice hint of ginger.

Besides ordering it “tsuyudaku” (with extra sauce), you can also customize it as “negidaku” (with extra onion).

The "Negi Tama Gyudon" is a Rice bowl topped with plenty of crisp green onions.

Some reviews say that the moment you break the egg yolk, it mixes with the sweet and savory sauce, bringing everything together into a milder, richer flavor.

• Negi-tama Gyudon (beef Rice bowl with green onions and egg)
The beef was tender and well seasoned, and it went perfectly with the rice. Adding shichimi (Japanese seven-spice blend) partway through sharpened the flavor, so I could enjoy it all the way to the end without getting tired of it.

・Tandoori Chicken Curry
The curry is even more filling than you would expect. The chicken is incredibly big too. It falls apart easily with a spoon, which feels great. The combo of tender chicken and curry is delicious, and it is very Manzoku.

Yoshinoya Shibuya Miyamasuzaka Ten

Yoshinoya Shibuya Miyamasuzaka Ten, about a 4-minute walk from Shibuya Station, lets you enjoy gyudon (beef Rice bowl) in a cafe-style interior.

There is seating on the first and second floors, and it seems you can take your time choosing from the menu using the touch panel at your seat. The spacing between seats is fairly wide, so you can relax without worrying about the people around you.

The beef in the gyudon (beef Rice bowl) is said to have an excellent balance of fat and lean meat.

The sweet and savory sauce apparently soaks well into the rice too. Adding beni shoga (pickled red ginger) gives it a nice tangy accent, and a generous sprinkle of shichimi (Japanese seven-spice blend) brings out the aroma.

In addition to the regular menu, they also offer seasonal limited-time dishes.

The photo shows the previously featured Niku Daku Gyu Roka Curry. Reviews said the smooth curry sauce had a good kick of spice, with a fresh heat that made it really tasty.

After trying all kinds of places, I still come back to this because it is insanely good. It literally goes beyond just “good.” The taste, price, passion, and dedication are enough to blow you away. It is by far my favorite among beef Rice bowl chains!

・Beef Mugitoro Rice bowl
The plating didn’t feel sloppy at all, and it was put together with care(^^)With okra and tororo (grated yam), it went down nice and easy, making it great for summer when the heat wears you out!! I was also happy that the asari (Japanese littleneck clam) soup had properly large clams in it!
