"Beringei cafe" is a stylish cafe renovated from a vacant building, serving body friendly dishes made with ingredients from Gifu Prefecture. It is located a 5-minute walk from Gifu Station.
The warm interior has counter and table seating on the first floor, and table and sofa seating on the second floor.

First, a little lemonade.... The balance of the lemon's tartness and the honey's sweetness makes it really refreshing. It's a grown-up lemonade that's not too sweet. The gateau chocolate also had a really nice balance of sweetness and a punchy chocolate flavor, and I was surprised that it was warm. I had always thought of cake as something served chilled....

We had a sofa seat on the second floor. The stylish atmosphere made it easy to relax and enjoy the meal. The Hamburger Steak was juicy, and the gateau chocolate and shortcake were not too sweet, so they were easy to enjoy. The price was fair, and it made me want to come back again.

Yakuzen Cafe ZEN, located in Akanabehishino, Gifu City, is a cafe restaurant serving yakuzen (medicinal cuisine) dishes created by an owner with extensive knowledge of yakuzen.
The interior is said to be stylish and relaxing. There are 24 seats in total, with table seating, and it is often full, so a reservation is recommended.

A key feature here is that the sweets also incorporate elements of yakuzen (traditional medicinal cuisine).
The photo shows the “Yakuzen Tart,” made with a tart crust using bran flour and kneaded with hatomugi (Job’s tears) and kuko no mi (goji berries). It is topped with figs, walnuts, pumpkin seeds, and kuko no mi, then baked until fragrant.

For lunch, they offer the "ZEN Set Plate Lunch," which comes with a choice of 4 mains, 4 kobachi (small side dishes), a salad, and kuromame-cha (black soybean tea).
The most popular main, the "Yakuzen Kara-age," also comes with multigrain rice and soup. The Kara-age, marinated in a house-made sauce, is said to be juicy and delicious.

Everything is homemade, and these happy dishes that let you enjoy the meal from start to finish and leave with a smile are surely packed with the love of the owner, who has a wonderful smile and is easy to chat with. When people hear medicinal cuisine, they may think it is good for the body but wonder about the taste, but every dish at this restaurant has a gentle flavor and is easy to enjoy. I had many kinds of carefully prepared vegetables and other dishes at reasonable prices, and I was very Manzoku. The staff are all very pleasant as well, so this is one of my favorite restaurants.

For the Combo lunch, you can choose two items from options like fried shrimp, Hamburger Steak, and cream croquettes, so you can pick what suits your mood that day.

I came for the fried shrimp, but the fried oysters looked good too, so I ordered the fried oyster set meal ➕️ 3 pieces of fried shrimp. For the other one, we chose the fried shrimp ➕️ shrimp cream croquette set meal. There were lots of small side dishes! The tartar sauce was good too, and it went really well with the fried shrimp. The fried oysters were also large and tasty.

Puronto Asuti Gifu Ten, located on the second floor of ASTY Gifu, is just a short walk from the central ticket gate of Gifu Station. It operates as a cafe during the day and a bar at night.

Lunch is packed with so many items in the set, and it was a big Manzoku♡Every salad was well seasoned and easy even for kids to eat. The roast beef was light and went well with the other side dishes too. It was tender enough that even kids could bite through it!The house made shokupan (Japanese milk bread) was soft and went really well with butter, with a taste that made me want to come back for more.

At Hawaiian Cafe Maho no Pancake Ginan Ten, you can enjoy tasty pancakes and meals. It is located along Onari Kaido in Ginancho, Hashima District, Gifu Prefecture.

The lunch also looked tempting, but being able to have pancakes for just the price of a drink is very appealing. Since they are brûlée pancakes, the surface is slightly bitter and crisp, and they are delicious.

The soufflé eggs Benedict comes with so much cheese that cheese lovers will be in heaven... As for the magic pancakes, the sponge is almost like pudding, with some parts hardened like brûlée, and they taste so good! What I love about this place is that no matter when I visit, it really makes me feel like I’ve come to a tropical restaurant!

Volpe is located along Prefectural Route 122, about a 15-minute walk from Kani Station. This cafe is attached to a hair salon, and you can enjoy house-made sweets, crepes, and more.

Craft Cafe Big Forest, located along the Tono Nanjamonja Kaido in Tajimi, Gifu Prefecture, is a one of a kind craft cafe that the owner built by himself with DIY.

Mitsuha is about a 10-minute walk from Takayama Station, located on Sanmachi Street in the old townscape.
This cafe is set in a renovated historic kominka (traditional Japanese house), where you can enjoy Japanese-style sweets and dishes in a charming space. I stopped in because I wanted to have a little tea. I ordered the dessert set. Is the building Homemade? Maybe, but the atmosphere was really nice. Right in front of me were an ichigo house (strawberry greenhouse), a dog run, and fields stretching out. The weather was nice, and I felt very relaxed.
