Wa Mika

Wa Mika is an izakaya where you can enjoy Wagyu steak, sashimi, and creative dishes made with seasonal ingredients.

The calm interior has counter seats around the kitchen, along with comfortable box seats and table seating.

The Homemade dishes, made by a chef devoted to washoku (Japanese cuisine) and packed with seasonal ingredients, have drawn high praise in reviews, with people saying everything is delicious and the quality is very high.

For sashimi, which is said to pair well with Japanese sake, the recommended choice is an assortment that includes fish in season at that time.

One of the appeals of Japanese sake is that it uses local rice and water, so each region has its own character, and this restaurant also has a wide selection of Japanese sake, which makes it nice that you can choose one to match the food or your taste.

They offer everything from standard Japanese sake to rare limited edition bottles.

kimiki

I made an On-the-Day reservation at the last minute, but luckily there was space and I got a seat at the counter. The menu looked tempting too, but the recommended specials board for that day was so full of great options that I ended up choosing almost everything from there. They also had a wide selection of Japanese sake. It is a place I would like to visit again.

千葉カノン

It feels like the taisho (head chef) handles the cooking on his own, but maybe because he works so efficiently, you do not feel kept waiting. The front of house staff also move quickly and provide good service. The food and drinks are both excellent, and the restaurant has a nice atmosphere. It was a great meal. It was delicious.

Sakedokoro Hiyoshi

Sakedokoro Hiyoshi, long loved by locals in Matsudo, is a long-established izakaya with 80 years of history since its founding. They offer a wide range of dishes, from otsumami (small plates to go with drinks) that pair perfectly with alcohol to hearty meal-style options.

Inside, the restaurant has a comforting Japanese space with a warm, old-fashioned feel, making it a great fit whether you want to enjoy a drink on your own or spend time chatting with friends.

One of the recommended dishes, the "beef tendon and daikon radish stew," is made by slowly simmering Domestic beef tendon for 3 hours.

The beef tendon is tender, and the daikon radish is said to be full of dashi flavor and very tasty. Its sweet and savory seasoning, slightly on the rich side, pairs well with Japanese sake.

The drink menu includes a "Lemon High Set" that you can make yourself while adjusting it to your own taste.

You finish the drink by mixing Sapporo shochu with shochu, soda water, and a squeeze of lemon. You can also have the shochu with oolong tea or with hot water.

アル中ガブ飲み母

・Meat miso omelet and simmered beef tendon with daikon radish
The omelet comes with a ton of nikumiso (seasoned meat miso) that has a pretty good kick!! There is also a huge pile of shredded cabbage underneath ◎ They use 3 eggs too, so it is extra large and deliciously runny ♪( ´θ`) You could keep drinking forever with the cabbage soaked in sauce. The beef tendon was also cleaned really well and turned nice and tender ♪ They had prepared the tendon and daikon radish separately in advance. The tendon pieces are huge. Big chunks w So good!

たかの酒場放浪記

The drinks come with shochu (distilled spirit), soda, ice, and lemon, and you mix them yourself. To start, they ordered the meat miso omelet and seafood rice vermicelli from the recommended menu. The meat miso omelet was topped with plenty of mildly spicy niku miso (seasoned meat miso) with a nice kick of sansho (Japanese pepper), and it was delicious!

The simple “nama-tsukune (salt or sauce)” lets you enjoy the ingredients themselves, and the popular “Tsukimi nama-tsukune,” where you coat the juicy tsukune with egg yolk, is also said to be a favorite, with rich chicken flavor in every bite.

The yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) and kushiyaki (grilled skewers) prepared by a certified grill master are also highly recommended. They have everything from the classics to vegetables and more unusual varieties.

For alcohol, they offer authentic shochu and Special Japanese sake, which seem like you could enjoy endlessly with the yakitori.

A yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) place I really love. Their raw tsukune (chicken meatball) is the signature dish. It is definitely delicious. I also love the motsuni (stewed offal), Kara-age, and Motoya-meshi! Anyway, it is the best because you can eat and drink tasty food at great value. Nagi Jukusei-dori Ohako

Nagi Jukusei Dori Ohako is an izakaya known for its tasty yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) made with jukusei-dori (dry-aged chicken), which is aged under carefully controlled temperature and humidity.

The 1st floor has counter seating facing the open kitchen, while the 2nd floor offers table seating with the charm of a traditional kominka (old folk house). There is also a Private room, making it easy to use for different occasions.

The photo shows the popular nama-tsukune (fresh chicken meatball) with a "59-second shelf life." It is grilled from raw, then wrapped in pork caul fat to keep the flavor from escaping.

They also offer a wide range of yakitori (grilled chicken skewers) made with aged chicken and cooked over charcoal. They serve cuts such as Tenderloin, which is tender and low in fat, as well as obi (a rare cut from the inner thigh).

One of the restaurant's three signature dishes, the "Ni Mugimiso Motsunikomi," is slowly simmered with a blend of shiromiso (white miso) and Kyushu mugimiso (barley miso).

The rich soybean-based flavor of the miso and the tender, melt-in-your-mouth motsu (offal) are said to pair well with alcohol.

Sakana Kazoku. Asahi Super Dry bottled beer❤️Mao soda. Assorted sashimi. Tsubugai (whelk) Chanja? Kara-age of young chicken. As always, thank you for the freshness of the sashimi and those thick cuts! The tsubugai? Chanja I tried for the first time was a perfect match with beer! So good

ななぷに

The grilled fish had nicely browned, fragrant skin, while the flesh was tender and flaky. The cooking was not too strong, bringing out the fish’s natural fat and umami in a gentle, gradual way. The grated daikon radish and lemon on the side neatly sharpened the flavor, which also left a good impression since it never felt heavy all the way to the last bite. Overall, it was a calm, well-balanced meal, making this a place where you can enjoy fish without any fuss.

An izakaya near Yabashira Station. They had lots of fish dishes on the menu. While there, I had the yamaimo (Japanese mountain yam) Teppan-yaki. It was made by grilling grated yamaimo on an iron plate and topping it with shredded nori (seaweed). It comes out on a piping hot iron plate. It was really delicious.

They had all kinds of kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers), and the vegetables were good too, including mini tomatoes, shiitake mushrooms, and a whole long asparagus spear on one skewer. When I ordered the side menu dashimaki tamago (Japanese rolled omelet), it turned out to be a version you cook yourself at the table, which was interesting in its own way.

I like the kushikatsu (deep-fried skewers) here, but I love the chinchiro (dice game drink special) even more. Thank you very much, Yataiya Hakata Gekijo Shin-Matsudo Ten. The flavor was unbelievably good, with an amazing taste. The powerful gyoza (pan-fried dumplings) just melted in the mouth. The Premium Malt's was great too. I recommend the kushiyaki (grilled skewers), especially the tsukune (chicken meatball skewer). Next time, I want to eat the gari (pickled ginger) in the gari sour.

・Amazing mentaiko (spicy cod roe) motsu-nabe (offal Hot Pot)
I visited this place for motsu-nabe. This time, I chose the mentaiko motsu-nabe!! It came with so much mentaiko and lots of big pieces of motsu♡The soup is so good!! To finish, get the mentaiko cheese risotto!! This♡This is what makes it so tasty!! The other motsu-nabe options are good too, and you can enjoy changing up what you have To finish, so definitely give it a try!

Mekiki no Ginji Shin-Matsudo Ekimae Ten

Mekiki no GInji Shin-Matsudo Ekimae Ten is a seafood-focused casual izakaya run by Monteroza Co., Ltd., the company behind a well-known izakaya chain.

In a lively space with the feel of a fish market, you can enjoy a wide variety of seafood dishes and drinks.

Hamayaki (seaside-style grilled seafood), which lets you directly enjoy the aroma and umami of fish and shellfish, looks like a luxurious dining experience.

The "Meibutsu Hamayaki assortment" includes popular seafood items such as kani miso korayaki (grilled crab miso in the shell) and Karafuto shishamo (smelt).

The seafood menu includes the colorful Gokai Sashimi Nana-shu Mori (bold 7-kind sashimi assortment), which brings together several kinds of fresh fish, as well as sashimi of Oranda-jima Salmon from Iwate Prefecture, raised in an environment close to nature.

Enjoy it with your favorite combination of Japanese craft beer, shochu, or Japanese sake.

I stopped by for the first time during a short bit of free time because I had been a little curious about this place for a while! The food and drinks came out quickly after I ordered, so it is really handy when you want to grab a quick drink during a short break. The otsumami (drinks-friendly snacks) here paired really well with alcohol and were good!

We suddenly decided to go out for drinks, so I visited Mekiki no Ginji for the first time. The menu had lots of options, and the food came quickly, so I was satisfied. The photos show edamame, itawasa (sliced fish cake with wasabi), a sashimi assortment, and grilled whelk with butter soy sauce. Everything was tasty in a simple, solid way. I do not get many chances to go, but I thought it was a nice place to drop into casually.
