Sakanaya Sakaba Fisher

"Sakanaya Sakaba Fisher" is a seafood izakaya (Japanese-style pub) located a 2-minute walk from Tsurumi Station on the JR Tsurumi Line. They serve fish dishes with a focus on seasonality and a live, right-in-front-of-you feel.

In addition to counter seats, they also have high tables and low tables for four.

The seafood used in the fish dishes is brought in fresh every morning from Toyosu (Toyosu fish market). The owner, who runs a fish shop at Toyosu Market, carefully selects the fish that are in season.

The recommended "Seasonal Natural Fish Omakase Sashimi assortment" changes depending on what comes in that day.

The popular specialty since the restaurant first opened, "Meibutsu! Uni-tama," pairs a soft-boiled egg with uni (sea urchin), tobiko (flying fish roe), and ikura (salmon roe). It is said to be a dish you can enjoy for both its looks and its taste.

The rich taste of the uni and the popping texture of the tobiko are said to be addictive.

The seafood dishes here use fish and shellfish brought in from Toyosu and Hokkaido.

The "Negitoro Bakudan" is a dish that combines fresh negitoro (minced fatty tuna), iburigakko (smoked pickled daikon), shio kombu kelp, and natto (fermented soybeans), letting you enjoy a range of flavors and textures all at once.

When I asked for a recommendation, they said the Sea Bream sashimi, so I ordered that first. It was thick cut, fresh, and lightly seared, and it was amazing. Then I had the liver paste. It had raisins in it, which I liked. I liked the flavor so much I could have kept drinking red wine with it the whole time.

When it comes to Tsurumi (Tsurumi), it has to be Suehachi (Suehachi)! No matter what anyone says, I always end up heading to Suehachi. It is mainly a seafood place, but you can also enjoy all kinds of dishes like pizza, egg dishes, and fried rice! Tempura green peppers might be a bit unusual. But my top recommendation is fried horse mackerel. You can't go wrong with it!!

It feels like the menu is geared toward dishes that go well with drinks. The lineup goes beyond just gyoza, and it really makes the drinks go down easy. The hoppy isn’t the Tsurumi lethal dose, just normal. Right. This is what normal is, I thought, and happily ordered another shochu refill. The most popular item, "Ganso! Shio Tsukune (Original Salt Seasoned Chicken Meatballs)," is a menu item with a strong focus on freshness. They hand-shape it and cook it until light and fluffy, they say.

Along with its juicy flavor full of meat juices, you can also enjoy the crunchy texture of the cartilage.

The "Hiden Dare no Chicken Nanban" is a dish of fried chicken coated in nanban dare (sweet and sour sauce).

It comes topped with plenty of homemade tartar sauce, and the sweet and sour taste with its mild richness makes it addictively good, according to reviews.

All the dishes were tasty and reasonably priced, and the kushiyaki (grilled skewers) in particular were juicy and excellent. They also have a wide selection of drinks, from beer to Japanese sake. The inside has a homey atmosphere, which made it a nice place to drop by casually.

・Motsu nikomi (offal stew)
The offal had a deep flavor and was well seasoned. They probably simmered it for a long time. Just as it looks, the chili pepper really comes through, and it is properly spicy. It is perfect with beer.
