20 Recommended Izakaya Around Kiba Station! Introducing popular spots

Kiba is an easy place to live, with large shopping complexes and spacious parks scattered around, while still keeping the charm of a traditional downtown area. It also has good access to central Tokyo, with Nihonbashi 6 minutes away by train and Ginza 13 minutes away, and it stays busy with many people on both weekdays and weekends. So this time, we are focusing on izakaya (Japanese pubs) and have put together a list of recommended spots around Kiba Station.

Created: July 21, 2026

This article is based on2,064Tabelog reviews.

Nibunhan

Nibunhan is an izakaya (Japanese pub) located a 9-minute walk from Kiba Station.

The modern Japanese-style interior has counter seats that are lively with regulars and table seating recommended for groups.
A warm and friendly atmosphere fills the place, making it easy to drop in casually.

They say the dishes made with wild caught fish and the wide selection of Japanese sake bring new discoveries every time you visit.

The "Omakase Three-Type Assortment" is an assortment of exceptionally fresh sashimi sourced On-the-Day. It comes with yakumi (condiments) such as wasabi and citrus, so you can enjoy different flavors as you eat.

The Okinawan style "shima oden (Okinawan oden) 6-kind assortment" is a dish so good you will want to drink every last drop of the broth. They also recommend adding some variation in flavor with the koregusu (Okinawan chili infused awamori) on the table.

The restaurant always has more than 20 kinds of Japanese sake available, so if you enjoy alcohol, why not try them together?

inuinuさん

They have a great lineup of Japanese sake and snacks to go with it. The kani salad (crab salad) was tasty too, and it had been a while since I last had it. Karasumi (dried mullet roe) goes so well with drinks, it is just the best. The oden (Japanese fish cake stew) with broth soaked through was great too, and mixing that broth with shochu was almost too good. It is perfect for people who love to drink.

masah1592

Starting with a beer and looking over the menu inside, I saw nothing but dishes that pair well with Japanese sake. Sashi-mori (assorted sashimi), iburigakko (smoked pickled daikon), hotaruika okizuke (firefly squid marinated in soy sauce), and their original oden (Japanese stew). The atmosphere is great. If you tell them what kind of Japanese sake you like, they will recommend one for you. This is the kind of place where you end up drinking too much. By the way, it was fully booked with reservations.

Motsuyaki Yoshida

At Motsuyaki Yoshida, about a 7-minute walk from Kiba Station, you can enjoy charcoal grilled Horumon centered on exceptionally fresh pork Horumon.

The interior has the warmth of wood and feels bright and comfortable. True to its casual izakaya style, the place is said to fill up with many customers right after opening.

"Motsuyaki (grilled offal)" is served in a style where you grill it yourself.

The motsu slowly grilled over charcoal has no off notes at all, and its springy texture and juicy flavor fill your mouth. Since it is cooked at a low temperature in advance, you can enjoy it with peace of mind, which is nice.

The signature yude-tan (boiled beef tongue) is tender and full of dashi (Japanese soup stock) flavor, making it perfect as a snack with drinks.

The moment you put it in your mouth, it falls apart softly, and it is said to be so good with the salt and pepper served on the side that you will not be able to stop eating it.

なお1101v

Anyway, the food was really good. You should definitely try the tebasaki (chicken wings) in the tori paitan oden (chicken white broth oden)! The dashi broth was incredibly good too, and the meat was so tender it was amazing.

うさまる1113

The interior is more spacious than I expected and has a clean feel. The food was also good. Of course, we got 10 fried eggs. The three of us shared it, and it was quite a lot. Everything was tasty, but the homemade atsuage (deep-fried tofu) was especially outstanding.

Hinai Stand

Hinai Stand is an izakaya where you can casually enjoy Hinai jidori (Hinai free-range chicken), one of Japan's three major jidori chicken breeds, about a 10-minute walk from Kiba Station.

The chic, stylish interior has a calm atmosphere and feels like a hidden retreat. It is comfortable and inviting, making you want to stay longer.

The “mune-kawa” of Hinai Jidori (free-range chicken), cooked slowly and carefully, has skin that is crisp and fragrant, while the meat stays moist, tender, and juicy.

The just-right salt seasoning brings out the umami, and it is said to be so good that you will want another serving.

The lineup of izakaya dishes is also extensive, including items like "shio motsunikomi (salt-seasoned stewed offal)" and "tori dashi yudofu (tofu simmered in chicken broth)".

The "collagen-rich dashimaki tamago (rolled omelet with broth)" is said to be perfect as a palate cleanser, and when you take a bite, gentle dashi broth overflows from inside. The sharpness of the grated daikon radish served alongside adds a nice accent.

レイン0505

We ordered the Omakase 5-skewer assortment (negima (chicken and scallion skewer), gizzard, tsukune (chicken meatball skewer), sasami (chicken tender) lightly seared rare with wasabi, and one more that I can’t remember...), along with shiitake mushroom stuffed with meat and cheese, potato salad with iburigakko (smoked pickled daikon) tartar sauce, and seared momo (chicken thigh). Every dish was carefully prepared and very delicious.

サハリンリン

As I strolled along the shopping street, I noticed a sign that did not really stand out. The restaurant itself is farther back, making it feel like a hidden gem. There are about 4 seats in total, with counter and table seating. I have always liked yakitori (grilled chicken skewers), and I am happy with any jidori (premium local chicken). I especially like Hinai jidori (Hinai local chicken). Its juicy texture and tender meat are outstanding. I would definitely like to come back again.

Ponshu Building

Ponshu Birujingu, about an 11-minute walk from Kiba Station, is a whole building devoted to a Japanese sake izakaya.

The 1st floor is standing bar space, while the 2nd floor and above have table seating and Private room options, creating a stylish interior with the warmth of wood. One of its big draws is that it is easy to drop in even on your own.

The menu is lined with izakaya dishes that are perfect as snacks to go with drinks.

The "Cheese Ham Katsu" has a crisp coating, and the rich cheese pairs well with the savory ham. It is said to have just the right volume and be very satisfying to eat.

The popular “Omakase 5-kind assortment” is a well-balanced assortment of the day’s recommended items selected from the ochoko-mori (small cup assortment).

It lets you compare and enjoy small portions of five dishes, such as charcoal-grilled aigamo (duck) and lightly pickled quail eggs, so it is also recommended for people who do not drink alcohol.

skys0157

They have a large selection of Japanese sake, and the staff will recommend some for you✨It is a place where regulars and first-time visitors can get along, and you can have a fun time!!!I tried comparing Ugo no Tsuki and UGO Japanese sake with a friend, and the quail eggs were tasty too.

kenshima

They had a wide variety of local sake, from well-known labels to rare local sake I had never seen before, which made it a lot of fun. Also, the taisho (head chef) had extensive knowledge about sake, so it was really enjoyable to drink while learning all kinds of things from him.

Hiroshima teppan (iron griddle) sake wine 90

About a 10-minute walk from Kiba Station. This is an izakaya where you can enjoy dishes made with seasonal ingredients shipped directly from Hiroshima.

The modern, calm interior has lively counter seating as well as spacious table seating, so you can spend a relaxed time here.

"90 Burger" is one of the signature items that shows up often in the "Omakase course."

It features a juicy patty sandwiched in soft fluffy buns, and even though it is bite sized, it is a highly satisfying dish. It is not available à la carte, but you can enjoy it with a reservation.

At Hiroshima-style Teppan-yaki, uni horenso (sea urchin and spinach) and uni creson (sea urchin and watercress) are well known, but this restaurant serves it with arugula.

The “90 Original‼︎ Additive-Free Uni & Rukkora-yaki (grilled sea urchin and arugula)” is a dish where the rich umami of sea urchin matches the toasty aroma of arugula.

maicerisier

They use plenty of Hiroshima specialties, and I was able to fully enjoy Hiroshima through the local sake and gin from Hiroshima breweries. Even the simple dishes, like grilled vegetables and raw oysters marinated in ponzu sauce (not on the menu), as well as the classic Hiroshima-yaki (Hiroshima-style savory pancake), were all delicious.

Source:maicerisier's review

ad0991

The system where ordering okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) means it becomes your last order gave me a little laugh. The system where you can choose your ochoko (small sake cup) also lifts the mood. It feels like a place packed with the charm of Hiroshima, and everything was delicious.

Isokou

Isoyuki, about an 8-minute walk from Kiba Station, is an izakaya (Japanese pub) known for its very fresh seafood dishes and tasty yakitori (grilled chicken skewers).

The interior has a warm downtown feel and is said to be lively and always bustling with lots of customers. It is comfortable and welcoming, so even first-time visitors can relax and enjoy their meal.

The sashimi, which lets you enjoy very fresh seafood, comes in two types: a 3-item assortment and a 5-item assortment.

This is the "Sashimi 5-item assortment," which includes hotaruika (firefly squid) and maguro (tuna). The contents of the assortment change daily, so no matter when you visit, you can always find something new to try.

The "ika fry (fried squid)" with its crisp coating is popular as the perfect snack to go with beer.

Cooked with just the right heat, this dish lets you enjoy the squid’s natural umami and sweetness. It is recommended to change up the flavor with the lemon and karashi (Japanese mustard) served on the side.

虎右衛門11111

I had heard it was good, but honestly it was even better than I expected. Every sashimi (sliced raw fish) was as fresh as could be and perfect. The sake harami (salmon belly) that came with the course menu was also delicious, and the Hot Pot was great too! Everything was so good that I even ordered extra. I will definitely come back again‼️

shiden21343

What stood out most was how good the fish was! It was so tasty that we ended up ordering a lot. The first dish, sanma (Pacific saury) sashimi, hit us right away with its great flavor, and every bite after that, from tsubugai (whelk) to mehikari (greeneyes), was just as good, making the drinks go down easy too. It had the feel of a downtown izakaya (Japanese pub), and the atmosphere was nice as well.

うめに

The salmon risotto pairs perfectly with its creamy sauce and fresh green salad. The Appetizers included a country-style pâté with a coarse texture yet a delicate taste, and the pickles on the side added a nice accent. The onion gratin soup was also packed with deep savory flavor, making it a standout dish that brought out the best in the ingredients.

Its homey atmosphere is part of the appeal, letting you casually enjoy Special sashimi and grilled dishes at the counter seats. They also offer a wide selection of local sake, and pairing it with the food makes for a memorable dining experience.

The "sashimi assortment" is plated with Hokkaido specialties such as hokke (Atka mackerel), sakura masu (cherry salmon), hirame (flounder), and mizudako (giant Pacific octopus).

Every piece of sashimi is said to be extremely fresh, letting you enjoy the natural flavor of the ingredients. It also makes a perfect snack to go with drinks.

Depending on the season, you can also enjoy Hanasaki kani (boiled Hanasaki crab), shipped directly from Nemuro.

This super fresh crab is said to be packed with meat and very satisfying to eat. Boiling it in salted water brings out the crab’s natural sweetness, and it is said to be so good you will keep eating it without stopping.

Just like the name Otaruya suggests, this was a restaurant serving Hokkaido cuisine. Everything I tried was delicious...! The tomorokoshi (corn) tofu? was really good! It was like chawanmushi (savory egg custard)!!! The sashimi was very fresh, and the meat was also tasty with haskap (honeysuckle berry) sauce, which made for an unusual way to enjoy it〜

The more you chew, the more flavor comes out, and it is said to be so good that just one bite will hook you.

みんみんまるまるまる

It has a cozy, compact feel, with counter seating and 1 table seat. You sit close to the staff, which gives the place a warm and relaxed atmosphere. The motsunikomi (stewed offal) is excellent! I also ordered a baguette, and when you put this on top, it tastes great too!! The boiled peanuts were unusual, so I ordered those as well. They make a nice palate cleanser. I think this is the kind of place you can casually drop into.

If you visit with a group, it’s also a good idea to order different pastas and enjoy comparing them.

The Quick Drink set comes with 2 drinks and motsu-ni (stewed offal) for a little over JPY1000. Nice. But here, you should really order more food. The meat dishes I ordered were all tasty. The seasoning is fairly simple across the board, with sesame oil and salt used lightly, giving the impression that the place really lets the ingredients speak for themselves. The meat must be very fresh, and that is exactly why this focus on the ingredients works so well. The green onion sauce on the avocado yangnyeom has an outstanding balance of heat, sweetness, and saltiness! I think it goes well not just with avocado, but with just about anything.

I had the Jigoku Tofu (hell tofu) at level 5 spiciness, and finished with cheese risotto‼︎It was a level of heat that spice lovers could finish, so if you want to keep the heat down, I recommend levels 1〜3. The lighting inside the restaurant felt pleasantly dim.

Karaku

Karaku, an izakaya located an 8-minute walk from Kiba Station, is a place where you can enjoy Korean home-style cooking.

The interior, built around brown tones, has a calm atmosphere. There are counter and table seats, so you can relax and enjoy your meal at ease.

The "Dakhanmari Set Hot Pot" is a popular menu item that lets you enjoy the rich flavor of chicken directly.

The chicken, simmered slowly, is fall-apart tender and so good you may find yourself completely absorbed in eating it. To finish, they recommend adding udon or rice so you can enjoy every last drop of the soup.

The “gamjatang,” made by simmering pork back bone meat and potatoes, is a popular dish known for letting you enjoy authentic flavor.

The more it bubbles away, the more umami and richness come out into the pot. The potatoes, soaked with the soup, are fluffy and sweet, and said to be very tasty.

ラーメンあきおくん

gopchang bokkeum (stir-fried Horumon) is a sweet and spicy stir-fry of Honeycomb tripe and vegetables, with chunks of garlic throughout that make you want a bowl of rice. Gyeran-jjim is Japan's chawanmushi (steamed egg custard). The soft, fluffy egg has a nice dashi flavor and a gentle taste.

The cheese dak-galbi (spicy stir-fried chicken with cheese) comes with wonderfully melty cheese, and it goes great with the mildly spicy chicken. And what impressed me most was the nama makgeolli (fresh Korean rice wine)! It was fresh and creamy. I really got to enjoy the full Korean vibe, and I left completely Manzoku.

Monnaka Koichi

About a 9-minute walk from Kiba Station, Monnaka Koichi is an izakaya where you can enjoy a wide range of creative dishes and drinks.

The interior has a modern style with the warmth of wood. There are table seats and zashiki (tatami seating) in a total seating layout, along with a private-feeling loft where you can relax without worrying about the next table.

Their specialty is “Monnaka oden (Japanese hot pot dishes simmered in broth),” made with meticulous preparation.

The classic “daikon radish” is said to burst with dashi broth in every bite and taste so good that you will want another serving. You can order the oden A la carte or as an assortment.

The photo shows two standard izakaya menu items: "chicken Kara-age" and "French fries."

The Kara-age is said to stay tasty even after it cools, with a crispy, fragrant coating and a large size that makes it very filling. The French fries are seasoned with just the right amount of salt, making drinks go down easy.

・Motsu nikomi (stewed offal)
The cooking was spot on. It was served at a temperature that was gentle even for people with sensitive tongues, yet never lukewarm. It also comes with quite a lot of motsu, so I recommend it.

The chicken thigh is interesting. They said it was different from the chicken thigh at a yakitori restaurant, and it really is completely different. This is good in its own way, and it’s a chicken thigh skewer that slowly makes you want to eat it again. I enjoyed it again today!
