Kanagawa Prefecture: Places to Enjoy okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) in the Yokohama Sakuragicho and Takashimacho area

Okonomiyaki Ponkichi Honten

Okonomiyaki Ponkichi Honten is a popular spot where you can cook your own piping hot, fluffy okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) at the table.

It has good access from Sakuragicho Station and Kannai Station in Yokohama, Kanagawa Prefecture, and offers roomy sofa seating as well as Sunken kotatsu seating.

A key feature of the okonomiyaki here is the batter, which uses dashi stock made from bonito flakes, kombu kelp, and dried sardines, along with plenty of yam.

The dashi-rich batter is full of flavor and pairs perfectly with the original sauce. If you are unsure how to cook it, the staff will kindly show you how.

In addition to okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake), they offer a wide range of Teppan-yaki items such as monjayaki (Tokyo-style savory pan-fried batter), yakisoba (fried noodles), and takoyaki (octopus balls).

One of the highlights is the special griddle they provide, which lets you enjoy takoyaki in a self-serve style. The melty texture is hard to resist, and some people apparently go back for more again and again.

ミシュランPAC

The okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) I had this time showed perfect harmony between the batter and dashi broth. The outside was grilled to a fragrant finish, while the inside had a soft, airy lightness. The balance brought to mind the authentic Osaka style, yet with a refined character all its own. The sweetness of the cabbage and the rich flavor of the pork came through in layers, while the glossy sauce, with its tangy acidity and sweetness, tied everything together.

Crisp on the outside and fluffy inside okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake). I went back to this local spot I visit from time to time after a long while. The great value and tasty food were as good as ever. You can cook your own takoyaki (octopus balls), monja (Tokyo-style savory pan-fried batter), and okonomiyaki. It is nice that you can take your time, eat, and drink at your own pace.

Denkosekka Yokohama Minatomirai Ten, about a 3-minute walk from Sakuragicho Station in Yokohama, Kanagawa, is a place where you can enjoy Hiroshima-fu okonomiyaki (Hiroshima-style savory pancakes) finished by the staff at just the right timing.

The casual interior is said to be easy for anyone to visit. There are also counter seats where you can watch the okonomiyaki being cooked.

The okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake), gently wrapped in egg without pressing it down with a spatula, stands out for its cute rounded shape. It is said to have an amazingly light and fluffy texture.

Among the many okonomiyaki options, the most popular is “Denkosekka,” with the aroma of chopped oba (Japanese basil) adding a nice accent.

They use only fresh Wagyu shipped directly from Shibaura, and the Horumon menu is also extensive. It is a great match for drinks.

They offer a wide range of cuts, from the classic liver to the rare necktie steak, and you can choose the seasoning from their house-made raw miso sauce or salt.

・Okonomiyaki Denkosekka
The moment it arrives sizzling on the Teppan-yaki, you’re wrapped in the fragrant aroma of the savory sauce. The softly cooked batter is layered with plenty of cabbage, yakisoba (fried noodles), and a runny egg, making it filling yet surprisingly light to eat.

The spur-of-the-moment time attack drinking at Denkosekka was way too much fun!! Of course, Denkosekka was insanely good, and the other snack dishes like Horumon and oysters that they probably didn’t have at Tokyo Station were also super tasty!! I’m curious about the other dishes too, so I’d love to come back again when I can take it easy!!

I really enjoyed the All you can eat okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake)! I went on a Saturday, so the reserved seats were all full. The food came quickly, and the staff were very nice too! Everything tasted great, and the value for money was amazing! It was also fun that they had such a wide menu, including okonomiyaki, monjayaki (Tokyo-style savory pan-fried batter), yakisoba, and grilled dishes!

The sours were great too, and we tried a variety of monja (savory pan-fried batter) and okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancakes), and every one was delicious. We also had yaki udon (fried udon noodles) to finish, and it was just right as the final dish!

For those who prefer udon over soba, udon nikutama (udon with meat and egg) is recommended. It is a dish with many loyal fans.

It is popular for its pleasantly chewy texture, which goes very well with the thick, slightly sweet sauce.

soulg563

Of course the okonomiyaki (savory pancake) is delicious, but they also serve gansu (Hiroshima-style fried fish cake) and kōne (thin-sliced beef brisket), foods unique to Hiroshima, so this is a place where you can really feel Hiroshima. They of course also have oysters♪It is a small restaurant, but it has counter and table seating, and I liked the relaxed atmosphere that makes it easy to drop by even on your own.

Bayside sunset

We first had the Matanoya Special monjayaki (savory pan-fried batter), and it was very good. Next, we ordered the butatama okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake with pork and egg), which the owner cooked and then brought over on the Teppan-yaki grill system, and it was outstanding. The chunky cabbage and the softly cooked okonomiyaki went far beyond what I had imagined okonomiyaki could taste like.

Monjayaki (savory pan-fried batter) and okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake) are both well seasoned and tasty, and there are quite a few kinds, so you can enjoy trying different ones. Besides okonomiyaki and monjayaki, they also have a wide range of side dishes, which is great because there are plenty of options that go well with drinks. Among them, I always order the Teppan-yaki gyoza. It is worth trying.

Hiroshima-ji Okonomiyaki Tara-chan

The batter is packed with plenty of cabbage and bean sprouts, making it both healthy and very filling.

They also offer a full lineup of small plates you can casually snack on, including Hiroshima meibutsu (local specialty) oyster dishes.

The photo shows the "Hiroshima kaki (oysters) Butter Soy Sauce Grill." The oysters, shipped directly from Hiroshima, are said to be large and have an irresistible plump, springy texture.

heso66

Drink alcohol while nibbling on Homemade dishes at this homey restaurant. Pure bliss. And of course, finish with okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake). The noodles are from Isono Seimen. It’s a classic that those in the know swear by. You’ll fall for the soft, nicely puffed-up finish. This hidden gem is easy to recommend both to people from Hiroshima and to those who aren’t. If you visit Totsuka, definitely stop by.

I had the niku tamago soba (okonomiyaki with meat, egg, and soba noodles) and oysters. The oysters were large and juicy, and they put me in a happy mood while I waited for the okonomiyaki. The okonomiyaki arrived. It had plenty of vegetables and a soft texture overall. The sauce was milder than I expected, so I adjusted the flavor with sauce and mayonnaise as I ate. I had not gotten enough vegetables that day, so I was glad.

I shared okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) and monjayaki (Tokyo-style savory pan-fried batter) with a friend and toasted with beer. The okonomiyaki was crisp on the outside and soft inside, letting us really enjoy the flavor of the ingredients, with a nice chewy texture and the fragrant aroma of the Teppan-yaki plate. Tsukishima Teppan

Tsukishima Teppan, located near Mukogaoka-Yuen Station in Kawasaki, Kanagawa Prefecture, is a local Teppan-yaki izakaya run by an owner who trained in Tsukishima.

The restaurant offers a spacious interior where you can relax, and with indirect lighting and jazz playing in the background, it has an upscale feel.

They offer a wide range of Teppan-yaki dishes, including okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) with a light and airy batter, top-notch monjayaki (Tokyo-style savory pan-fried batter), as well as meat and seafood options.

If you are not confident about cooking it yourself, a skilled staff member will grill it right in front of you, which is a nice touch. The photo shows the classic okonomiyaki dish, "Special Buta-dama (pork okonomiyaki)."

They use yamaimo (Japanese mountain yam) in the okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake), and the soft cooked batter with the fruity house sauce and mayonnaise makes an irresistible combination.

There is also a wide range of toppings, including "pakuchi (cilantro)" and "kimchi," so you can finish it to your liking.

A place in Kawasaki where you can enjoy authentic monjayaki (savory pan-fried batter) and okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake) made in the Tsukishima style✨The Teppan-yaki, carefully prepared starting with the dashi stock, is packed with umami, and the Seafood Special Okonomiyaki and mentaiko (spicy cod roe) cream risotto were especially outstanding. Inside, soft jazz plays in a calm and relaxed space, and the service is polite too. It feels comfortable, and I’d love to visit again.

Hiroshima okonomiyaki (savory pancake) / Teppan-yaki Shochan

Located about a 4-minute walk from Mizonokuchi Station in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Hiroshima Okonomiyaki Teppan-yaki Shochan is a popular Teppan-yaki restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki with drinks.

Inside, the restaurant has table seating that is perfect for groups, as well as counter seating where you can enjoy the live cooking right in front of you.

They use beef tendon broth in the okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake), which gives it a deep, rich flavor. Its clean finish also makes it a good pick To finish a night of drinks.

The photo shows the popular "Kujo Negi (Kyoto green onion) Yamamori Soba Nikutama." It seems they enjoyed the perfect finish, from the tender cabbage to the chewy soba.

The steak menu made with American Spencer roll is also popular. It is included not only as an A la carte option, but also on the All you can eat menu.

It has a juicy finish that leaves both your stomach and your heart satisfied, and some reviews said that even though this is an okonomiyaki (savory pancake) restaurant, the steak had an authentic taste like something from a real steakhouse.

猟師のせがれ

The live cooking, the savory aroma, and the warm personality. Shouchan’s Teppan-yaki, with all three coming together, satisfied not just my appetite but my heart too. If you want to eat authentic Hiroshima okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) in Mizonokuchi, this is the place!

祭君

Okonomiyaki packed with plenty of cabbage and faithful to the Hiroshima style. There are plenty of Hiroshima-yaki places in Tokyo, but the taste here stands up to the real thing. It has a solid, satisfying flavor, and above all, it is reasonably priced. I could not help but mutter, "What a great find." The steak served Teppan-yaki is also excellent. It is just as much of a star as the okonomiyaki.

Wakatake Kawasaki Mores Ten

Located on the 7th floor of Kawasaki More's near JR Kawasaki Station in Kawasaki, Kanagawa, Wakatake Kawasaki More's Ten is a local favorite where you can enjoy okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake), monjayaki (Tokyo-style savory pan-fried batter), and Teppan-yaki.

With its spacious interior, it is also perfect for Banquets and large groups, and is said to let you enjoy your meal at a relaxed pace.

The okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) lineup is wide ranging, from classics to more unusual options. They use a carefully made original flour blend, which gives it a soft, fluffy finish when cooked.

Their original sauce, made with plenty of fruit, is also part of what makes it so good. They also offer a wide selection of monjayaki (Tokyo-style pan-fried batter), yakisoba (fried noodles), and a la carte dishes.

(Each) table has a Teppan-yaki griddle just for takoyaki (octopus balls), so you can enjoy the "Yatai no Takoyaki Set".

One of the best parts is making it together with friends while cooking it alongside other Teppan-yaki dishes. It seems to come out soft and fluffy inside and crisp on the outside.

Since it is in a building directly connected to the station, access is excellent, and it was easy to stop by even on a rainy day. The interior has a calm Japanese style and feels clean, with a relaxing atmosphere that helps you unwind.

This time, I ordered the All you can eat plan so I could eat as much okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancake) as humanly possible! The menu is extensive with all kinds of okonomiyaki, but since I like seafood, I ordered the Umi no Sachi Ten. It had a nice seafood dashi flavor and tasted great. It was also a great value, so I’d like to go again.

Kanagawa Prefecture [Sagamihara City] Restaurants Where You Can Enjoy okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake)

Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki (savory pancake) Shanto

Hiroshimafu Okonomiyaki Shanto is a popular local spot where you can enjoy Hiroshimafu okonomiyaki (Hiroshima-style savory pancake) with an outstandingly generous amount of noodles.

Inside, the restaurant has a nostalgic atmosphere with a retro feel. If you want to enjoy the live cooking action, the counter seats are recommended. There is also zashiki (tatami seating) that can accommodate up to 20 people.

The okonomiyaki menu is popular, with each one grilled on the large Teppan-yaki griddle in front of the counter by skilled chefs.

Between the layers of batter, it is packed with cabbage and bean sprouts along with noodles, so even just one is said to be highly satisfying.

For the noodles, you can choose not only soba, the standard for Hiroshima okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake), but also udon or chuka-men (Chinese-style noodles).

The noodle portion can be increased at no extra charge, making it a great option for anyone who wants a filling meal. They also offer a wide range of toppings, so choosing your combination is part of the fun.

• Hiroshima-fu okonomiyaki (Hiroshima-style savory pancake)
It comes with 1 serving of noodles, but it still feels fairly filling. The okonomiyaki is of course piping hot and delicious. I also liked that it came with plenty of vegetables. And it goes amazingly well with draft beer! In the second half, I added some mayonnaise and sprinkled on shichimi (Japanese seven-spice), and enjoyed it all the way to the last bite.

ケンショウ11

This time, I ordered soba nikutama-iri (yakisoba with noodles, meat, and egg). The really surprising part is their generous service: you can choose the noodle portion anywhere from 0.5 to 2 servings for free! As it cooks on the Teppan-yaki grill, the toasty smell of the noodles and the sweet aroma of Otafuku Sauce spread through the air and instantly work up your appetite. They finish it with a drizzle of mayonnaise, giving it that classic Hiroshima-style look.

Kanagawa Prefecture [Zushi City] Restaurants Where You Can Enjoy okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake)

Okonomiyaki Oranba

Okonomiyaki Oranba, located about a 3-minute walk from Zushi Station in Zushi, Kanagawa Prefecture, is a restaurant where you can enjoy carefully made okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) based on a recipe inherited from the owner's mother, who once ran an okonomiyaki restaurant in Osaka, the home of the dish.

The cozy, homey interior is said to have counter seats and raised Sunken kotatsu seating.

The okonomiyaki (savory Japanese pancake) uses seafood sourced directly from local fishermen and homegrown vegetables from the farm.

The signature "butatamayaki (pork and egg okonomiyaki)" is said to have a light exterior and a soft, fluffy center. The secret sauce passed down through two generations of mother and daughter also seems to be an essential part of the experience.

A great pick for health conscious diners is the "negiyaki." This dish uses plenty of Kujo-negi (Kujo green onions).

They simmer the beef tendon and pork for a long time, and the balance with the green onions is spot on. The crispy texture on the surface is said to be irresistible.

The tatami seating is Sunken kotatsu seating. For the okonomiyaki (savory pancake), you can also cook it on the Teppan-yaki at the table, but since we were with children, they brought it out already cooked. The side dishes were also tasty, and the okonomiyaki was soft and good. The staff were kind too. I was happy that the restroom was clean as well. Even the foam on the beer tasted great, and they also have a good selection of Japanese sake, so the drinks go down easy.

おいしい冷麺を探してます

They bring it over piping hot and place it on the Teppan-yaki griddle set into the table. They topped it off with a neat mayo beam. The menu has lots of dishes packed with tasty seafood from Kotsubo Gyoko (Kotsubo Fishing Port). This is a great pick for anyone who wants to relax in Zushi and enjoy good seafood with a drink. They also have a wide selection of alcoholic drinks.
