This is a Nepalese restaurant on the second basement floor of Yodobashi Camera Yokohama. I did not have much of an appetite that day, but suddenly craved carbs, so I stopped in for the naan. The cheese naan was fragrant and fluffy, with a light sweetness and gooey melted cheese. It was so good I could have eaten two pieces just as they were, without any dip!

Nepal Ethnic Ryori The Royal is a wonderful restaurant where you can enjoy authentic Nepalese food. The momo and dal bhat are especially excellent, and the use of spices is spot on. The interior has a calm atmosphere, making it comfortable, and the service is kind.

K. Shoko

On this day, I ordered the curry buffet with a drink set ♡ The buffet comes with 4 kinds of curry, turmeric rice, freshly baked naan, and a salad bar. Since it was curry, I couldn’t eat that much, but I enjoyed trying a little of the different kinds ♡ Personally, I liked the tamago (egg) curry best for its mildly spicy kick ☻

・Lunch Set A
One kind of curry, salad, naan or rice, and a drink. You can choose the spice level from mild to very hot, so I went with the mild vegetable curry. If you ask for half naan and half rice, you can have two smaller portions♪ The vegetable curry was mild, so it had some spice but kept it light. It had chunky pieces of vegetables like okra, carrots, and green beans.

I went right when they opened for dinner. It was delicious, but I picked too many spicy dishes and my mouth was tingling. The naan was also very filling, and you could call this a hidden gem near Yokohama Station. Since it is inside an office building, it can be hard to find, but if you come to Yokohama, definitely give it a try.

Kazana Minatomirai Ten

Kazaana Minatomirai Ten is an Indian restaurant located just steps from Minatomirai Station on the Minatomirai Line. They use spices imported directly from India, and the food is said to be authentic.

The spacious interior has an upscale feel, and with plenty of space between seats, guests can enjoy a relaxed meal.

At the lunch buffet, in addition to four kinds of daily curries, they also serve a seasonal curry. In summer, options include "goya (bitter melon) and chicken," and in autumn, "sanma (Pacific saury)," using ingredients that are in season.

Indian style crepes made with rice flour called "dosa," as well as naan, rice, and salad, are also All you can eat.

The "biryani" made with basmati rice is also popular. They offer three kinds: mutton, chicken, and vegetable.

It has a spice-forward flavor, and some reviews even rave that this biryani was delicious in a way they had never tasted before.

Tomophy

The curry spread that day had four kinds: seafood, dal (lentils), saag (spinach), and (probably) butter chicken. Dal and saag are classic staples, but butter chicken was by far the best. I got a second helping of the butter chicken. The lemon rice went really well with the curry. The naan rusks I tried for the first time that day were incredibly good. I got seconds of those too.

schiene

It was my first Indian curry buffet in a while. You can choose from options like bean curry, yogurt curry, and chicken curry, and the tandoori chicken is All you can eat. It was a menu that really felt like a great deal. They also kept bringing as much naan to the table as I could eat, so I got to enjoy it fresh out of the oven. I recommend it.

Kanagawa Prefecture: Recommended curry restaurants in the Yokohama Kannai and Isezakicho area

South Indian restaurant Bodi Sena

The interior is a stylish space based on gray tones and dark wood grain, making it easy to relax and enjoy your meal. It is a convenient spot not only for lunch, but also for enjoying a drink with your food.

The South Indian staple “meals” is popular here. “Meals” is a set meal served on one plate, centered around basmati rice with curry, soup, pickles, and lentil crackers.

The style here is to keep eating while mixing the curry and side dishes together.

The curry has an authentic taste made with dozens of spices, a hallmark of South Indian cuisine. It is known for its mild flavor that you could enjoy every day.

The photo shows the lunch "Three Curry Combo." The Chettinad mutton is said to be spicy, made with star anise, poppy seeds, and cardamom.

kurashiモアモア

The spicy mutton is not actually that hot. If anything, it has a sweet finish. The mutton is tender too, and this is really delicious! The chicken marked medium spicy has a nice kick. It might even be a little hotter than the spicy mutton. But it goes perfectly with the bhatura (fried bread). Rice also tasted best with this curry. At this restaurant, every flavor comes through clearly.

pinecake

・Lunch meals
As expected, even among Indian food, the curries at places that highlight Minami Indo (South India) have a very striking kind of sourness and spiciness. Compared with what I had in Tokyo before, the sourness and heat here are moderate without being too mild, and it is fun just to try different ways of mixing and adding things.

shun-793

There were so many kinds of curry that it was hard to choose, but the staff explained them carefully, so I went with a mutton curry. The spice level and thickness were just right, and it had a complex flavor that seemed to come from a wide range of spices, making it extremely delicious.

ガチ中華街ICHI/いち

You’ll feel full with the three kinds of curry, rice, naan, salad, and more. The curry has the real deal flavor you’d expect from an Indian restaurant. It has a mild level of spice, so just about anyone can enjoy it. It goes perfectly with naan and rice, and the rice pudding-like dessert is sweet and unique too. I’m already hooked on Delhi Dining Junky.

riku_sakura0823

I ended up at this curry restaurant while looking for a place where I could use points. The staff were foreign, but they were friendly and left a good impression. The curry was of course tasty, and it was finished with a flavor that would suit Japanese tastes. The restaurant was also spacious and clean. The naan was slightly sweet, big, and pleasantly chewy, and refills were free, so I got another one. I’d like to go again.

This is a curry restaurant that I find myself craving from time to time. I love the garlic cheese naan because it tastes so good, and I order it every time. I usually get the ladies' lunch, and it always leaves me full. The curry is also delicious, and I usually order the regular spice level, but next time I might go for it a bit hotter.

At 5 p.m. on a weekday, it was naturally quite empty and very relaxing. I really enjoyed it♡ Even while waiting for the food, the nice aroma got me excited. The Appetizers were anchovy potatoes lol For the main, we had chicken and pork. Soup curry with lots of vegetables! It was seriously the best. Every time, I leave in complete Manzoku. It makes me want to come back again right away!! If you like thinner, soupier curry, soup curry is the best!

I was really craving naan and curry, and the storefront drew me in so I decided to stop by. There are counter and table seats, and the place has a bit of the atmosphere of a curry-loving country. I ordered chicken curry and naan, but there are also options with two kinds of curry sauce and other variations. The curry and the pieces in it were large, and I liked the authentic flavor. I was also glad to have some good naan for the first time in a while.

It’s runny, but it has cooked down and has a slight thickness. Oh❗As expected from the very hot level❗It’s spicy❤️The salt is mild, but the spices come through properly, giving it a deep, rich taste (´- `*)✨As for the seafood curry, in addition to the base ingredients of potatoes, carrots, and green beans, it also contains asari (clams), squid, mussels, and scallops

キレンジャーしんちゃん

Curry ①: paneer do pyaza, with an onion-based curry and plenty of texture from the wedged onions. It was a bit disappointing that it did not include green peppers. The chopped green onions added a nice accent to the aroma. The mild paneer was delicious. Curry ②: chicken lababdar, with chunky pieces of chicken instead of paneer. This one stood out more for its heat, and the spice profile was really pleasant!

食探偵M

・Soup Curry with Charbroiled Hamburger Steak
The rice served in a red hangou (mess tin) looks fun and appealing, and each grain stands up nicely, making it a great match for the soup. Eating the soup and rice in a 1-to-1 ratio gives it a really good balance. The charcoal scented Hamburger Steak releases its juices into the soup, and it is so good that you could easily keep eating rice with the patty alone. The Outside skirt is tender and has a refined savory flavor."

As for the much anticipated curry, hmm... when you cut into the chicken in the curry, the juices mix in... yes, it really does change the flavor. Hmm, personally, I think I prefer the soup curry in Yokohama? But the chicken was grilled until crispy and was very fragrant! Eating that chicken together with the curry created a great combo of香ばしさ and curry, and it was very tasty.

I was seriously craving Indian spinach curry, so I got Takeout from this well-reviewed place☆Trying to keep it a bit healthy, I ordered sag paneer with cottage cheese instead of a meat curry. Though that said, I also got cheese naan on the side, packed with plenty of cheese. The sag paneer was not too salty and tasted great.

ハタ頭五郎

I chose the chicken curry, and while it had some heat, it was not too spicy, and it was not very sweet either, so even people who are not good with spicy food can eat it‼︎I did not see any vegetables like potatoes, but it had a fair amount of fairly large pieces of meat. The naan was also ridiculously big, enough to make you sleepy at work in the afternoon lol

・Lunch Set A
Free refills of naan is the best! I chose mutton curry and butter chicken curry. The mutton curry was medium hot, so it might be tough for people who do not handle spicy food well. It had that spice based heat that builds up. On the other hand, the butter chicken curry was very mild and sweet. Both curries had big pieces in them, which was great. I found a recommended place to eat in my first time visiting Tsurumi!

One of this restaurant's main draws is its wide variety of curry. There are 10 regular curries and 4 daily curries.

The regular curries include chicken, chili sambol, iwashi (sardine), and goya (bitter melon), while the daily curries include potato and lentils. Some say the lineup is so extensive that it is hard to choose.

The vegetable potage, made with more than 10 kinds of vegetables, is also popular.

佐久海ノ口

You can choose 2 kinds of curry. Today, I went with sagu chicken (spinach and chicken curry) and iwashi (sardine), since Miura Kaigan has plenty of fresh fish! Even with spinach in it, the sagu chicken had no off notes, and the way it worked with the chicken was even better than expected! It was really good! I’ve never had curry with such a noticeable salty taste before. So delicate!

The Yokosuka Kaigun Curry Set, which offers both great taste and plenty of volume for total Manzoku, is the most popular item at the restaurant. Kaigun curry (navy curry) is a Kanagawa local specialty that traces its roots to the curry rice once served in the former Imperial Japanese Navy.

For dinner, the "Maya R Fast Course with All you can eat naan and rice" is also popular for its good value, and comes with chicken tikka and mushroom chili.

しーぐぅ

I wondered how kaigun karee (navy curry) would be at an Indian-Nepalese restaurant, but it was good. It had big chunks of chicken, potatoes, and carrots, and it tasted like it had been simmered for a long time, with the ingredients falling apart easily and fully soaked in the curry flavor. It did not seem very spicy at first, but a nice level of heat came through later. As you would expect from an Indian-Nepalese restaurant, the turmeric rice was also nice.

ヨシダタクヒロ

For the curry, I chose both the chicken and the mutton eggplant, and had both made spicy (3 on a 4-level scale, from mild 0 to extra hot 4). The cheese naan has amazing volume. It is cut into four pieces, but each one is about the size of a slice of sandwich bread. The chicken curry has the thickness and richness of butter chicken. It is pretty spicy, but it also has some sweetness.

The curry is said to be made entirely by hand without using machines, and it gets praise for a flavor that makes you want to come back for more after just one bite.

The photo shows the restaurant's signature "5-kind assortment." It includes creative curry, European, and Wa-jian (Japanese-Asian fusion), and the toppings change every two weeks.

The spice-forward curry has a nice level of fruity tang, which is said to pair perfectly with the cutlet’s sweet fat.

This time, I ordered the standard "Koisugi Chicken Curry (Rich Chicken Curry)." Before long, a plate arrived generously filled with glossy, thick curry. Overall, it was a bit on the spicy side. Personally, I liked the mutton curry best. It was mild and creamy. They served both the naan and puri (deep-fried flatbread similar to chapati) fresh off the grill, so they were piping hot and tasty. Personally, I came for the miiru-su (South Indian set meal), so I was a little disappointed, but the curry was still the same, and I got to eat both naan and puri, so I was very Manzoku.

Turn right at Bremen Shotengai (Bremen Shopping Street), and it is about a 3-minute walk. The striking sharp-angled triangular building in cream yellow is the landmark. It also feels homey that the restaurant name Marini comes from the staff's mother's name.

Choutari

Chautari is a restaurant in Futako-Shinchi, Kanagawa, where you can enjoy Indian curry and Nepalese cuisine.

The restaurant name Chautari means a place to rest under a big tree in Nepali. It is said to be a casual spot where you can enjoy home-style meals.

The chicken, browned over charcoal in the in-house oven, and the chewy naan are both popular. The slightly sweet dough is said to bring out the flavor of the curry.

In addition to plain naan, you can upgrade for an extra charge to sesame naan, garlic naan, or cheese naan.

The photo shows the a la carte dish "Momo Mix." Momo are Nepali steamed dumplings.

The "Vegetable Momo," made with spinach kneaded into the dough, and the classic "Momo" are filled with plenty of keema and have a chewy texture. The restaurant's style is to enjoy them with curry sauce.

A "treasure of Futako-shinchi" that makes you want to come back again and again・The butter chicken is a standout dish you never get tired of no matter how many times you eat it・The naan is unbelievably chewy. Honestly, I’d come just for the naan・The wine and food are both consistently delicious, so you can relax and enjoy・It’s close to the station but still calm, and great whether you’re on your own or with a group◎・This is one place that really shows why Futako-shinchi is a “small but elite gourmet town”!

The rich aroma of spices fills the dish, and each bite opens up deep layers of flavor. Its just right level of heat whets the appetite, making it hard to resist for anyone who likes spicy food. It also comes with plenty of ingredients like chicken and vegetables, and it goes perfectly with rice. While it is spicy, you can still clearly taste the savory depth, so you can enjoy it to the very last bite without getting tired of it. If you are looking for authentic flavor, this is a place you will want to visit.
