I had gateau chocolat and a cafe latte at MORIHIKO.STAY&COFFEE in Kikusui, Sapporo. The gateau chocolat was rich and authentic, and the raspberry sauce paired with it perfectly. The cafe is spacious, with old books here and there, creating a very stylish space. The staff member who served me was also very kind and friendly.

I went to a coffee shop I had been wanting to visit for a while. It had a parking lot, which made it easy to use. They serve Morihico coffee, and even though it was a weekday, there were quite a few customers inside. The food menu was also extensive, but since I had already had lunch, I ordered only coffee. It was a very rich and deep cup of coffee.

You take off your shoes before entering this nostalgic building. In the cafe room at the back, piano music plays as you sit down, creating a calm atmosphere. It feels old yet new, with a neat and tidy look. There were also many people enjoying tea on their own, and maybe taking off your shoes is part of why it feels so relaxing? It was a space where you could chat and lose track of time.

Both the interior and exterior have a shabby chic feel and are very lovely. Although it was a weekday, the table seats were full, so I was shown to the counter. I like watching the cooking, and I also enjoyed talking with the owner. Since it was my first time, I wanted to taste the batter itself, so I ordered simple items. Both the galette and the crepe were very good.

The interior and the staff both have a very nice atmosphere. In a quiet and calm setting, I had hot deep roasted sencha (green tea) and age-kintsuba (deep-fried kintsuba bean cake). The age-kintsuba, made by coating kintsuba in rock sugar and deep-frying it, was faintly warm, and it felt blissful the moment I put it in my mouth. Then came the bitterness of the deep roasted sencha. It was irresistible.

ベルガモット1208

This was my first time hearing about a wagashi (Japanese sweets) afternoon tea, and I thought it would be lighter than a British-style afternoon tea with creams and such, but it actually had a fairly good amount of food. I was amazed by how many different ways beans could be transformed, as I got to try so many completely different things. Each one had its own character, was not too sweet, and really let the beans come through.

It used to be available only in Chuo-ku, so it was hard to get there, but since they opened a shop in Higashi-ku, it has become much easier to stop by. The salad arrived first, and not long after that the omu-hayashi (omelet topped with hashed beef sauce) was served. It had been quite a while since I last had hayashi rice, but the creamy soft egg went so well with the demi-glace sauce, and the beef was tender and tasty. Ishi to Tetsu STONE and IRON, a 10-minute walk from JR Otaru Station, is a cafe bar renovated from a historic stone warehouse. It is stylish and has an amazing atmosphere, according to rave reviews.

You can enjoy menu items made with local ingredients from Otaru, Hokkaido, as well as coffee brewed by a barista. It is a popular spot, so reservations are recommended.

The hearty "Otaru Kaisen Napolitan (Otaru Seafood Napolitan)" is a popular lunch item, known for being loaded with seafood and tasting great. It is served on a Teppan-yaki plate, which is a nice touch because you can enjoy it piping hot until the very end.

A la carte orders require one drink per person, so the set that comes with salad and a drink is said to be a better deal.

They are also known for having a wide selection of casual cafe menu items, including galettes and cakes. The photo shows the "gateau chocolat," served with whipped cream. The presentation looks beautiful too.

It is recommended to enjoy it with a set drink such as coffee, tea, or house-made lemonade.

This time, I had Vietnamese pho noodles and a hot lemonade. After about an 8-minute wait, the salad arrived. I personally liked the flavor of the dressing on this salad. Then the pho arrived right after that. I enjoyed it while changing up the flavor with lime and chili sauce. The hot lemonade after the meal was also excellent.

I liked the café latte, so I visited again! It was a weekday, but it was crowded. Good thing I made a reservation! I ordered a galette and a sandwich. With the sandwich, you can add the salad into it or put mayonnaise on it to change up the flavor however you like. It was fun. Stylish, and tasty. Manzoku. I want to come back again.
