Ginza Nomikoji Yamakishi is an izakaya (Japanese pub) located a 9-minute walk from Yurakucho Station on the JR Yamanote Line. It is run by Tomikoji Yamakishi, a popular kappo (traditional Japanese fine dining) restaurant in Kyoto.

The "oden (Japanese one-pot dish)" is known for its refined tasting dashi broth. The ingredients include Kyoto vegetables such as "Horikawa gobo (Horikawa burdock root)" and "Kujo negi (Kujo green onion)."

While preserving the traditions of Kyo-ryori (Kyoto cuisine), the restaurant also offers creative seasonal dishes that you can order à la carte.

Bachiko goes perfectly with alcohol! The jidori (free-range chicken) salt-grilled dish is also fragrant and tasty. The Sea Bream namero was the best✨I couldn't stop eating the snap peas. The otoshi (small appetizer) is good every time too. The Japanese sake on the menu changes every time I go, so I never get tired of it.

・Genkainada (Genkai Sea) Spanish mackerel grilled with salt
They skewer it and slowly grill it over a robata-like hearth in the kitchen. The skin is crisp, while the flesh stays moist and full of flavor. The way they season it with salt is excellent, and I was struck by how many people ordered Japanese sake with it.

First, we ordered the standard sashimi assortment. It came with several kinds of seasonal fish, and every piece had firm texture, with the fish’s natural flavor spreading across the palate. What impressed us most were the melt-in-your-mouth otoro (fatty tuna) and the madai (Sea Bream) with its pleasantly springy bite. The freshness really stood out, and it paired perfectly with Japanese sake.

The staff were very kind and took our orders right away. I think it must have been a lot to handle because our group was large. The dishes were also hearty, tasty, and satisfying.

What stood out most was the shiokara (salt-cured seafood) mixed with cream cheese. Eaten on crackers, it was surprisingly good, and it was the kind of dish that makes you want to recreate it at home. The kaisen no yukhoe (seasoned raw seafood) was also excellent as a snack with drinks.

Even though it was a Private room, the staff responded quickly and appropriately, which made the experience pleasant and comfortable. Since it was an inexpensive course, I thought this was a recommended place if you want to leave full, drink plenty of alcohol, and enjoy lots of conversation.
