Shikumen is located on the 7th floor of Kawasaki Dice, next to Keikyu Kawasaki Station. It was Saturday around noon, and the weather was bad, so I was wondering if it would be okay, but it was probably about half full. There were partitions in the restaurant, so it was hard to see the whole picture. I ordered the most popular "Sichuan set". It was a set of dandan noodles and mini fried rice. The fried rice was either a mini mapo tofu bowl or a dandan noodle bowl, but the taste of mapo tofu is too similar. The total price was 990 yen plus tax, but I used a coupon from Tabelog to get a 100 yen discount, making it 880 yen. They said that you can get drinks, including cold water, from the drink bar over there, so I got some cold oolong tea and while I was drinking it, the Sichuan set came. The dandan noodles are spicy with Sichuan peppercorns and crushed peanuts, but not too spicy. The bowl is deep, so it's a little difficult to eat. The noodles are firm for a Chinese Cuisine. They are medium-thick curly noodles, and the amount is normal. The fried rice was served in a small bowl that you often see in Chinese Cuisine. It smelled good, but the taste was quite light. It went well with the dandan noodles, but I'm not sure I could finish the fried rice by itself. It also came with a small dish of pickled mustard greens. The dandan noodles alone were a bit too filling, so the mini fried rice was just right. After I finished eating, I got a hot coffee from the drink bar and took a short rest before leaving the restaurant. Various electronic money was accepted for payment, but personally I would have preferred if I could have used Suica.
