飯田橋にある海鮮居酒屋『秋刀魚』を訪ねます。
もともとは中野庵という屋号だったそうだが、同店の名物がそのまま屋号になってしまったようだ。そんな破壊力があるのが「さんまずし」、東京ではここでしかたべられないんだとか！ちなみに、元寿司屋の店主のご出身である紀州の郷土料理だそうで、これを再現するのにこれ以上ない出自とキャリアになっております。秋刀魚はもちろん秋の味覚だが、こちらでは通年楽しむことができる。脂ののり自体は旬には勝てないだろうが、酸の効かせ方や大葉のアクセントでそれを払拭する味に昇華しております。
店内も居酒屋らしく大盛り上がりですが、これをアシストするのは魚介中心の居酒屋メニュー達。新鮮な刺身やマグロの竜田揚げなどいただきましたが、いずれもお酒のすすむ美味しいアウトプット。実は肉料理なんかも充実しており、豚の生姜焼きとかもいただいちゃいました。
今度はぜひ秋にまた違った表情の「さんまずし」にチャレンジしてみたいと思います！ご馳走様でした。
