Chinese Dining Ikegame is located near the intersection of Kita-Shinjuku Hyakunincho, where Shokuan Street and Kotakibashi Street intersect. Speaking of stations, it's about 5 minutes from Okubo Station. First visit around 12:00 on a weekday. Both the exterior and interior of the restaurant have a stylish atmosphere, and there are several counter seats on the front left, a row of table seats on the right, and seats in the back, all of which were already occupied, making it quite crowded. There is a lunch menu, with two types of special Chinese set meals (mapo tofu, stir-fried young chicken and potato curry) for 1,100 yen each. Dandan noodles, mapo noodles, gomoku and shrimp soup soba, bean paste yakisoba, and fried rice are all priced in the 900 yen range. There is also an unusual menu item called natto tandan noodles. Fried rice, rice, and large servings of noodles are free. This time I will try mapo tofu. Refills of rice are available, and salad, soup, and pickles are included.・Set Meal A Mapo Tofu 1,100 yen I like the oolong tea served cold. It was crowded so it took a while, but it was served in about 20 minutes. I was worried about the spiciness of the red-red mapo tofu, but I decided to give it a try. Whether it's the charred green onions or the chili peppers, it has a very fragrant flavor, and combined with the sharp spiciness of the Japanese pepper, it's quite spicy. The food goes really well. The pickles and zha cai are also delicious. I had a large serving of rice, and the mapo tofu was delicious and perfect as a side dish. You can use PayPay for payment. Now that I know why it's so popular, I'm going to come back and try other menu items.
