A restaurant specializing in Nepali and Indian Cuisine prepared by an authentic chef. There are plenty of authentic menu items to choose from, such as Nepali-style fried rice, Nepali-style steamed Gyo |
This is a Nepalese Indian Cuisine restaurant located 286 meters from the east exit of Mizuhodai station on the Tobu Tojo Line, in the direction behind Korakuen. It is a curry restaurant that serves curry with naan, and I found its existence while looking at Tabelog for a restaurant with a parking lot. The parking lot behind the restaurant is a monthly parking lot "Kuroda No. 2 Parking" No. 32 and 33 (on the left side of the entrance), which seems to be a contracted parking lot. Parking here is free, but there is no pavement, and at night it is a little inconvenient because the ropes that serve as white lines cannot be seen by the rear monitors and mirrors. There may be an option to park in the beautiful paved coin-operated parking lot across the street from this parking lot, even if you have to pay. The small building where the store is located looks quite old (the toilets are Japanese-style to Western-style). Next door is the Karaoke snack bar, and we could hear singing through the walls to the inside of the curry store. We visited as a Friday dinner for two. We went without a reservation, but surprisingly, the restaurant was almost full and we were barely able to be seated in an empty seat for four. Even after the previous guests had left, there was a nice steady flow of customers, some of whom were visiting on takeaway. There were also several customers with young children, who seemed to be regulars and seemed to fit in well with the local community. We toasted with a draft beer and a non-alcoholic beer from the "Beer Set" (580 yen). The "beer set" includes a choice of snacks, and I chose "fried cartilage bones". Other snack choices were Karaage, chicken dish, shrimp sen, masala papad, edamame, fried cheese wrappers, fried potatoes with cumin, and 2p spring rolls. The "fried cartilage" was surprisingly bright red in color. And I was even more surprised by the generous portion. I was able to finish it because there were two of us, but if I ordered it by myself, I might not be able to order curry. I ordered the "Tandoori Set" (1,390 yen) for two people. The Tandoori Set includes a choice of one curry, naan or rice, mini salad, tandoori chicken, seekh kabab, and soft drink. I chose the mutton curry and the hot chai drink. The "mini salad" of the set was served first, and it has a delicious orange dressing that is often served at Nepalese Cuisine restaurants. The curry was served with a choice of spiciness, so I asked for "spicy". It was made very spicy and tasty. The naan was a bit heavy, but not too sweet, so it was easy to eat. The price of 1,390 yen for such a large portion is too cheap. I was surprised at how full I was. The waiter's loud "sir" back and forth is also unique. I was a little thirsty when I got home, so perhaps the salt content was a little too much for me. I was thankful for the generous portions of food at a reasonable price. Thank you very much.
