奈良の近鉄学園前駅前の商業ビル4階にある「王楽園」さんに行きました。このお店本格的な四川料理が食べられるお店としてNHKにも取り上げられたとの事。
重厚な雰囲気の店内は、一昔前の中国のレストランの雰囲気でノスタルジックというよりは、少し重い印象を受けます。それでも、近くの常連さんと思われる先輩方が昼飲みを楽しまれていました。
メニューは豊富で、一品料理から点心まであります。目についたのが、麺とのセットもの。最新は、定番の「坦々麺」に心動かされましたが、ここでしか食べられない四川料理、またNHKにも取り上げられた「辣小麺」と「炒飯」のセットにします。
唐辛子いっぱいに見える「辣小麺」は、お店の方のお話の通り、しっかり掻き混ぜていただく準備。いざいただくと、辛いというよりは、酸味が強い。初めていただいた味なので、個人的には不味くもなく、かつ美味くもなく、不思議な味の印象です。
「炒飯」も一味違うなと思うと、パクチーが入っており、存在感があります。この味は個人的には好きです。ただ、日本人向けのなんちゃって四川料理じゃなく本場の四川料理の味が楽しめる店だと思います。
