[Tasteful kaiseki cuisine at the imperial family villa in Kanin]
I only use it a few times a year, but I've been coming here for 20 years. When I'm not staying at Gora Kadan, I always order ``Hana-no-zen'' for lunch. Adjacent to the grounds of the luxury Ryokan Gora Kadan, this classic Western-style building has been certified as one of Kanagawa Prefecture's top 100 buildings, and is a historic mansion that was renovated from the former Imperial Palace mansion. A relatively large room that used to be a living room has several tables, and a smaller room is available for private dining. This time, we had a private room. In addition to the tasteful interior, the trees in the garden that can be seen from the indoor windows also give you a sense of the seasons. Hananozen is my standard because it matches the quantity. The menu changes monthly or seasonally. The ingredients and utensils change with the seasons, so you'll never get bored. It's fun to open the weight of the Bento (boxed lunch) box. Menu for June 2023 ◻️ Appetizer Wakafu, white asparagus, Isagi, ginger roasted vinegar ◻️ Mukai Tsuke Two types of seasonal sashimi are completely eaten ◻️ Three-tiered Bento (boxed lunch) with eight-inch pieces, Fried food, and sashimi. Edamame tofu, fried morokoshi, salmon sushi, dashimaki tamago, etc. ◻️The way the radish was cooked in the simmered Simmered dish was amazing. ◻️Yakimono ↑ Simmered dish and grilled dishes are also included. ◻️ White rice with minced beef (sometimes seasonally cooked rice) ◻️ Red miso soup served in a tome bowl ◻️ Dessert is Shiratama Zenya I thoroughly enjoyed it even on a day trip lunch. I was very satisfied with the colorful and carefully prepared food that incorporates seasonal ingredients and the quiet space, allowing me to forget the hustle and bustle of the city and the world for a while and feel refreshed.
