★Shin-Yurigaoka Ginger Cuisine Specialty Store★
This is where it all began! Ginger restaurant Shouga has been a hot topic in the media, but it actually opened as a workwear store in 1992. The owner, Tokiko Morishima, a ginger lover, renovated half |
This is a ginger restaurant in Shin-Yurigaoka. I had been curious about it, so I stopped by after a movie. It was almost 2pm. When I got there, there were 13 groups waiting... I thought, wow, but if you come this far, you have no choice but to wait. However, many people had not even been called by name. Everyone wrote their name because they didn't want to wait, but it seemed like they had gone elsewhere. When I looked inside, there were seats available, but they were not shown to. There were plates left on the seats that had been used up. I thought as I was watching, but their handling was terrible. The ladies in the hall inside were no good. In the end, I had to wait about an hour. I was finally called, but quite a few menu items were gone. I wanted to eat a dish called "tonkiko", so I ordered that set meal. This also took a while. You can also choose two Small dish. Salad comes first. For Small dish, I ordered spring rolls and turnip and maitake mushrooms simmered with ginger, but spring rolls and something like potato salad came. Tonkiko is a sweet and spicy dish of stewed pork until it was soft and tender. It's delicious! When I asked for more rice, they said they had run out... But then a woman who seemed to be the owner came over and said she was reheating the rice and would bring out some side dishes. It was a homey restaurant... Soon the rice, pasta salad, and Croquette arrived. They were given to us as a complimentary gift. It was a restaurant with both good and bad points. However, it seems they are closing in August. I'm glad I was able to come back one last time. Thank you for the delicious meal.
