うどん屋を後にし、芋屋金次郎が近くにあるから寄りたいと連れに言われたので寄ることに。高知に本店を置く芋けんぴをはじめとするお菓子の店、四国外では東京日本橋やグランフロント大阪、福岡天神などに店舗を構えるちょっとした手土産には持ってこいの店。
今回は芋けんぴに加え、スイートポテトとさつまいもクリームを入れたパイ(商品名失念)を購入。車内ですぐいただきます。
スイートポテトは鳴門金時と紅芋の2種類、紅芋は芋のホクホク感がそのまま、鳴門金時はホクホク感に加え、紅芋とは違うスイートポテトならではの甘味を存分に引き出していてこれまた美味。パイの方は帯広の六花亭喫茶室のサクサクパイを彷彿とさせる筒状のパイにさつまいものクリームが詰めてあるコロネの様な感じ、芋の甘味がほんのりと香ります。揚げたて芋けんぴは既に置いてある袋詰めのものと違い、ややホクホクとした食感が残っています。結局食べきれず東京に持ち帰ることにはなりましたが、腹がいっぱいになるまで延々と食べてられます。健康診断前は注意！
