小淵沢駅近くの「井筒屋」。建物は昭和2年に建てられた日本家屋で、昔は和菓子屋だったそう。うなぎ料理屋としてオープンしたのは1996年。週末の予約無しだとかなり待つ人気行列店らしいので、お一人様だが念のため1ヶ月前から予約しておいた。予約可能な期間は来店の1ヶ月前からで休日の予約は11時の開店と同時に来店することが条件。
使用するうなぎは全て国産で産地はお店の前に掲示されている。この日は宮崎県産と三重県産だそう。庭園の眺められるカウンター席に案内されたが、目の前に鯉が泳ぐ池も眺められて風情があってとても良い。
メニューは登録商標にもなっている甕(かめ)入りの白焼き丼をレモンと山椒塩でいただく「かめ塩のうなぎ」(3600円)や、白焼きと蒲焼が両方一度に味わえる「二のう重」(3600円)が人気のようだが、せっかく電車で3時間以上かけてはるばる来たので「う会席」(6300円)を注文。飲み物は「竹酒 本醸造 小」(650円)を。
・骨せんべい ・・・ スナックみたいにサクサクポリポリで香ばしい。酒のつまみにぴったり。
・きも煮 ・・・ 山椒の実が丸ごと入っていて良いアクセント。
・うざく酢の物 ・・・ 刻んだ蒲焼ときゅうりの酢の物。器も可愛らしい。
・白焼き ・・・ 山わさびでいただく。うなぎ本来の風味がダイレクトに味わえる。
・一のう重 ・・・ 蒲焼のうな重。ふたを開けた瞬間、香ばしくかおるタレが絶品。
・吸い物、香の物 ・・・ 肝吸いではなくしめじと豆腐のお吸い物。キラキラ輝く浅漬けも絶品。
・ほうじ茶ゼリー ・・・ さっぱりした甘さで口の中にほうじ茶の香りが広がる。
うなぎは関東風でしっかり蒸してあるので余分な脂は落ちて皮はパリッと身はフワッ。タレもさっぱりしていていくらでも食べられそう。やっぱり白焼きより蒲焼きの方が好きだなあ。うなぎもすっかり高級品になったけど、一品物や白焼き、うな重も色々ついてこの値段ならお得だと思う。
