浅草という街は、広く飲食店が軒を連ねる。
日本の歴史上でも知名度の高い遊郭、吉原の吉原大門の辺りにも、馬刺しや天麩羅の有名な老舗があったりする。
だが、大門の通りを越えて北へ進むと、山谷と呼ばれるいわゆるドヤ街に辿りつく。
最近では、このドヤ街の簡易宿泊所も外国人観光客が利用したりで、街の雰囲気は変わりつつあるが、歴史の重みみたいなものは消えないだろう。
そんな山谷の一帯には、何故か名店と呼ばれる酒場が多い。
有名処では、丸千葉あたりも、その一つだろう。
今回記事にさせて頂くのは、山谷に近い、そして丸千葉の直ぐ近くにある「遠州屋」という店。
遠州屋という名前は、あちらこちらで聞いたりもするが、この店が本店の様である。
店の創業は、大正時代。
歴史ある由緒正しい酒場と感じます。
お店のほうは、今で何代目なのかわかりませんが、店主さんは先代の息子さん。
未だ店主としては、若い世代だと思う。
女将さんは、店主さんのお母さん。
カッコいい下町気質の方である。
店内ですが、カウンター席と小上がりの座敷。
カウンターは8名程度、小上がりは4人掛けテーブルが6卓。
広く感じますね。
なので、ゆったりと食事を楽しめます。
料理の方は、刺身を中心とした和食がメインだが、若い店主さんの視点で、いろいろなメニューが用意されている。
過去にいいなと思ったもので、トマトのチーズ焼きとか、フルーツトマトの天婦羅など。
基本の和食の安定感は、いう事なし。
食べても美味しいが、盛り付けも綺麗なので、観ても楽しめるのがいい。
