日本を暫く離れる(と言っても出張は時々あるのだが)ので、旨い鮨をと思い、ちょいと贅沢に嫁さんと銀座の鮨屋に赴いた。初めての訪問。夜は高いので昼間だが・・・
カウンターだけの僅か10席のこの小さな店は商業ビル、それも上の階は飲み屋ばかりという風情で、この店は地下一階にあるのだが、果たしてビルそのものも何だか冴えなくでこんなところに旨い鮨を食わせる店が果たしてあるのか不安だったのだが、それは食後に完全に払拭された。
土曜日の昼間のこんな目立たぬ店だが席は満席。当然に全員予約である。真ん中の8,000円のものを頼んだのだがその内容が、上記の写真から終わりの2カンを除いて、写真を撮っていない鮪の赤身の手巻きがそうである。もう、色々、拙い言葉を紡いでも仕方ないのだが、良い按配の赤酢のシャリにきちんと仕事のされた各ネタ。普段、そうそういい鮨は口に入れぬので、尚のこと、旨く感じた。エンガワなぞは鮨としては食べたのは初めてかも知れない。追加で、金目鯛と雲丹を頼んで、酒はビール(小瓶)2本と、酒の常温を一合で、〆て22,000円少し。うん、実に良心的である。鮨一つ一つの大きさも小さすぎず程よい。要するに加減がこの店はいいのである。
若き主人がどこで修業して今ここに店を構えるのかはまるで知らぬが、今後も楽しみである。日本に出張で帰ったら絶対にもう一度行こう。
