Founded in 1937 as the first generation of Shinozaki Kiku, the Hachioji main store was named Kikuya. In 1941, we began handling eel. In 1943, the first generation owner, Gentarou Shinozaki, established the specialty eel restaurant Shinozaki. On November 25, 2016, the Kichijoji branch opened. The second generation owner is Seiji Shinozaki, and the proprietress is Noriko. The third generation owner is Kenji Shinozaki, and the young proprietress is Christine. The business was established in 1985 and closed in September 2016, passing on the location of Masuda. |

We carefully prepare eel sourced from underground water, skillfully filleted by our eel artisans every morning and grilled slowly over premium Binchotan charcoal.
The secret sauce has been passed down for 80 years, and the pickled rice bran has been maintained for 50 years. Each eel is carefully grilled by skilled artisans using premium Miyazaki Binchotan charc...oal. The rice is freshly delivered from Naganuma Farm, a contracted farm in Yamagata, featuring Koshihikari rice. We also offer high-quality, aromatic first-grade sansho pepper sourced from the Niyodogawa Sansho Cooperative in Kochi Prefecture.
