| Restaurant highlights |
A hidden gem in the backstreets of Nishiazabu. Seasonal dishes reflecting the chef's aesthetic shine on the plate.
Nestled in a small alley just off Gaiemmae Street, you'll find "Kasumicho Suetomi." As you follow the sign and head up to the third floor, a refreshing white wood counter greets you. The chef, Yasuo S...uetomi, honed his skills for ten years at the renowned "Buntoku Yam." With a casual demeanor, he expresses his philosophy: "I just do the obvious things normally," reflecting his unwavering commitment to the culinary arts.
The dishes served, including a fragrant dashi soup, charcoal-grilled items, and seasonal clay pot rice, are all exquisite, showcasing the ingredients to their fullest. There are no extravagant decorations or gimmicks; instead, the gentle flavors seep into your body with every bite. Complementing the food, the interior is remarkably simple, embodying a sense of purity and aesthetic that resonates with food enthusiasts.
