Food Japan's oldest vine cow "Chiya beef"
The pinnacle of Japanese beef, steeped in history and tradition. Around 1850 AD, the ``Takenotani Tsurugyu'' was born in what is now Chiya, Niimi City, and is the ancestor of Chiya beef. In the Showa era, Yoshitaka Habe, the founder of the Wagyu Registration Association, researched the roots of Wagyu beef improvement and discovered that Japan's oldest ``Tsurushi (lineage cow)'' was located in Niimi City, Okayama Prefecture. Japan's oldest vine beef, Chiya Beef, is truly Wagyu among Wagyu beefs.
