As you progress through the lush green forest and open the door, you are greeted by an expansive, extraordinary space. The tables arranged in the airy, open floor are adorned with beautifully crafted dishes and cutlery, adding a touch of elegance to the refined atmosphere. To ensure that the finest cuisine is served at the perfect moment, the number of invited guests is limited to nine per evening. The pleasant service from the waitstaff and sommelier promises a memorable and special experience. Just like the flow of the Yukawa River, which is the inspiration behind the restaurant's name, I want to leisurely enjoy a blissful time.
ChefHiroshi Matsumoto - In Search of Truly Delicious Ingredients in Karuizawa
Born in 1986 in Nagano Prefecture, I grew up surrounded by a home garden in Ogawa Village, overlooking the majestic Northern Alps. After honing my skills for eight years at the French restaurant "Chez Tomo" in Ginza, I moved to Karuizawa. I then showcased my culinary talents at "Yukawatan," where I became the head chef after about two and a half years. With a foundation in classical French techniques, I incorporate abundant local ingredients from Shinshu into my original dishes, attracting many food enthusiasts to this area.
