A Long-Awaited Return
I visited after a long time.
The Degustation Menu included:
- Tuna with potatoes and a semi-dried tomato and caper sauce
- Chilled corn soup with hazelnut oil powder
- Daito Iwana (large mountain trout)
- Roasted filet mignon
- White chocolate terrine
I changed mine to the Saison White Peach verrine.
Everything was just as wonderful as before.
I absolutely love this place.
I will definitely be back.

I really like this French restaurant, Restaurant Keiki in Otowa no Mori.
This time, we sat by the road.
For drinks, we had Elderflower and 100% freshly squeezed mikan from Wakayama.
We chose the degustation menu:
- Galantine of French Bresse chicken and Shinshu pork trotters, served with a salad of Shinshu summer vegetables and barley.
- Bread & Tapenade
- Chilled corn soup
- Poêlé of Daitō Iwana from Nagano, with smoked Vinsanto sauce
- Roasted domestic beef fillet, accompanied by Shinshu summer vegetables
- Tart Citron with Daikamura mountain salt and lychee sorbet
- Petit fours
Everything was delicious.
Initially, I hadn't planned to stop by here, but we decided to go at the last minute and managed to make a reservation just in time.
I'm so glad we went!
I will definitely come back.

High-Quality French Cuisine
One of my favorite French restaurants in Karuizawa,
Restaurant Keiki, is located in Hotel Otowa no Mori.
I had both the white grape and white peach juices,
both were absolutely delicious.
~Degustation Menu~
A five-course meal.
- Summer Vegetable Rassamblé with Shinshu Miso Vinaigrette
A beautiful presentation.
- Bread and Tapenade
I absolutely love tapenade.
- Chilled Corn Cream Soup with Grilled Corn and Consomme
Creamy and tasty,
the grilled corn provided a nice accent.
- Pan-Seared Sea Bass with Dukkah, Amela Tomato, and Lime
I love cumin!
- Roasted Shinshu Beef Fillet
The pumpkin puree was delicious.
- Petit Fours
- White Peach Jelly with Raspberry and Vanilla
I enjoyed it with Mighty Leaf tea.
The menu structure has changed.
Previously, we could choose from about four options for appetizers, main dishes, and desserts,
but now it is fixed.
It's a shame to lose that element of choice, but the level of deliciousness remains unchanged.

Favorite French Cuisine
My favorite French restaurant in Karuizawa is Restaurant Keiki, located in Hotel Otowa no Mori.
It seems they are celebrating their 35th anniversary this year!
They have a special lunch limited to this year for JPY 3,780, tax included:
- Mille-Feuille of Shinshu Salmon and Scallops
- Bread & Tapenade
- Turnip Soup
- Roasted Beef Tenderloin from Nagano Prefecture
- Poached Peach from Nagano Prefecture with Raspberries
- Petit Sweets & Tea (Mighty Leaf)
This place is always delicious. The sauce is light and easy to eat, and the tapenade was so good that I ended up eating a lot of bread.
I’ll definitely go again!

I visited in the autumn.
I had the 40th anniversary menu.
From start to finish, everything was always delicious and comforting.
