Our commitment lies in our reliable expertise as a long-established wholesale dealer with over 90 years of history, our dedicated storage facilities for eel that have been passed down through generations, our management methods that maximize the umami of the ingredients, the skillful preparation at each store, the perfect grilling that achieves a crispy skin, fluffy flesh, and rich fat, our secret sauce that has been preserved since our founding, and the Shigaraki pottery that complements our proud flavors. Additionally, we offer unique specialties from Kyoto Gion, such as our original blended rice, bonito broth, and handmade Kyoto pickles.
SpaceA Long-established Eel Restaurant with Kyoto Charm: Perfect for Sightseeing and Special Occasions
Just a 3-minute walk from Gion Shijo Station. You can access our store from either Shinbashi Street or Shirakawa Street. Our charming establishment offers a refined atmosphere where you can fully experience the essence of Kyoto. Two traditional Kyoto townhouses, built over 100 years ago in the early Meiji period, have been transformed into a single store. With a courtyard available, you can enjoy your meal while taking in the beautiful outdoor scenery. We strive to be a beloved place not only for tourists but also for the local residents of Kyoto.

Delicious meals deserve delicious alcohol. We offer a wide selection, including wine, which is surprisingly well-paired with Japanese cuisine, as well as classic options like beer, shochu, sake, sour cocktails, and whiskey. The tea we serve is locally sourced hojicha from Kyoto. Additionally, we are currently in the process of producing a special sake exclusively for Kikukawa. We value the story behind our offerings, such as being involved from the rice planting stage. Stay tuned for new additions to our menu in the future!

We also offer kaiseki courses suitable for special occasions and various banquets. For lunch, the popular "Gion Kikukawa Kaiseki" (6,500 yen) features carefully selected eel dishes and seasonal ingredients that reflect the changing seasons. For dinner, in addition to the Gion Kikukawa Kaiseki, Hinagiku Kaiseki, and Oogiku Kaiseki, we recommend our specialty "Unagi Shabu Shabu Kaiseki" (14,000 yen), which allows you to enjoy tender eel and fragrant Kyoto vegetables. How about a meal for a special day spent with someone important?
