<2013年11月初訪>
小田急線向ヶ丘遊園駅北口より徒歩5分程、多摩区役所すぐ近くにある焼肉屋「ソウルガーデン」。外観の雰囲気からチヂミや火鍋なんかの韓国料理屋かと思っていたが、実はなかなか硬派な焼肉屋。黒毛和牛の「静岡そだち」の”雌牛”を一頭買いをしており、定番のカルビやロースだけでなく、様々な希少部位をリーズナブルな値段で頂ける。
雌牛というところがポイントで、一般的にスーパーなどで見かける霜降り和牛肉は”去勢した雄牛”。焼肉に向いている脂の乗りや柔らかさといった肉質の良さでは 未産経雌牛>去勢した雄牛>産経雌牛>雄牛と言われている。そこら辺の焼肉屋でよく謳っている「A〇ランク黒毛和牛」とかもあえて"雌牛"と書かかれて無ければたいていは去勢牛。
ちなみに和牛のブランドによっては、雌牛であることが条件になっているものもあり、有名な「松阪牛」は雌牛の未経産牛でないと名乗れないことになっている。
3階建ての建物で1Fから3Fまですべて客席になっており、3Fはお座敷、2Fはテーブル席と小上がり、1Fには2名用のカウンター席もある。座席数が多いが人気店なので週末は予約をしないと満席のことも多い。
定番メニューの他、日替わりでお勧めの部位や盛り合わせのメニューがあり、各テーブルにあるメニューは毎日差し替えられている。カルビやロース、タン塩などの定番のメニューもいいが、個人的には日替わりメニューの希少部位の盛り合わせがこのお店の真骨頂だと思う。
今回はお任せコース(一人3360円)を注文したが、ボリューム、質ともに大満足だった。お任せコースは1名からでもOKとのこと。これだけ質の高いお肉をたくさん頂いてこの値段は非常にお得。
1.前菜
白菜キムチ、もやしナムル、ぜんまいナムル。くたびれていない歯応えのあるキムチに丁寧な仕事がうかがえる。
2.サラダ
普通の野菜サラダだが、ドレッシングが甘口過ぎてあまり好みではない。チョレギサラダみたいなピリ辛の方がいいな。
3.焼肉(塩)4種類
サーロイン、ランプ、マルシン、イチボ。シンプルな味付けで肉の部位ごとの味の違いもしっかり味わえる。
4.焼肉(タレ)4種類
カイノミ、イチボ、カルビ、カタヒモ。このカルビの脂の乗りを見よ!雌牛の脂は雄牛(去勢)と違って、こんな霜降りでも全然しつこくない。
5.内蔵4種類
てっちゃん焼き、ハツ、レバー、焼きセンマイ。焼肉と比べれば内臓系は普通。そもそも正肉と違って黒毛和牛でも普通の牛でもあまり違いのでる部分ではないし。
6.〆の一品
牛トロ炙り寿司、塩カルビクッパ、辛口カルビクッパ、ユッケジャンクッパ、コムタンクッパのいずれか1種類を選ぶ。牛トロ炙り寿司をえらんだふぁ、サッと表面の脂が溶け出す程度に炙って酢飯で巻いて食べるとたまらない。
7.デザート
巨峰のシャーベット。口の中をさっぱりと。

3回目の訪問。過去2回とも「お任せコース」にしたが、今回は年始の訪問で新春のお得な盛り合わせメニューがあるので、単品メニューで構成を組み立ててみた。
★福肉 【富士】3150円
中身はお楽しみの「福袋」ならぬ「福肉」。内容はヒレ、マルシン、シキンボ(塩)とイチボ、マクラ(タレ)の計5種類、各4切れずつの盛り合わせ(3人前)。
★定番盛り1575円
カルビ3切れ、ロース3切れ、上ハラミ2切れの盛り合わせ(1.5人前)。
雰囲気はファミリー向けだが、店内のメニューやパンフレット、お店のブログなどから焼肉に対してとてもこだわりを感じる。都内の色んな焼肉屋に行ったが、コストパフォーマンスで言えば自分の行ったお店の中でもかなり上位だと思う。
居酒屋感覚でお酒をガンガン飲む訳でなければ、一人当たり4000円も出せば高級店並みの雌牛の霜降り和牛を満足するまで頂ける。

家の近所なのでなんだかんだ3、4か月に1回ぐらいのペースで通ってる。
カルビやロース、タン塩などの定番焼肉もいいが、一頭買いの日替わりメニューがあるので「今日はどんな部位があるんだろう」と毎回ワクワクした気持ちで楽しめる。
以前は「お任せコース」を注文することが多かったが、以前の構成だとさすがにボリュームが多すぎたのか(自分にちょうどいいぐらいだったので普通の人には間違いなく多いだろう)、値段と構成がちょっと控えめになった。
コースだとお肉の種類があまり変わり映えしないので、最近は食べたいお肉を自分で選べるよう単品注文で組み立てている。
他に最近気付いた点としては、最初の頃にコースで出てきた内蔵系が正肉系と比べるとあんまり印象に残らなかったが、2014年の春頃からホルモンの質が一段と良くなったと思う。お酒の種類も豊富だし、ちょっとした”ハレ”の日に近所で美味しいお肉を食べたいという気持ちを満足させてくれるお店。
